Choose the bag around the recording kit
A portable recording kit has different needs from gear that stays in a studio. Start with the camera, lens, microphone, cables, batteries, and computer you actually carry. Lay them out before choosing a bag, and leave space for the small accessories that are easiest to forget.
What to compare
- Protection: padded compartments that keep the lens and camera from knocking against other equipment.
- Access: a layout that lets you reach batteries, memory cards, and microphones without unpacking everything.
- Fit: room for your laptop and a way to carry the tripod if your kit includes one.
- Comfort: compare the loaded weight and straps, not just the empty bag.
